B4UBuild, a visionary venture in the construction sector, aimed to tackle the inefficiencies inherent in traditional project estimating. Their goal was to develop an online tool that could generate highly accurate building project cost estimates rapidly, saving builders and clients invaluable time and resources.

The Challenge

The construction industry faces significant challenges in project estimation. Creating accurate quotes is a labour intensive process, involving numerous variables like materials, labour, permits, and unforeseen costs. Many hours are often spent on estimates that never materialize into projects, leading to substantial resource drain. The core challenge was to create a solution that could achieve a 5-10% accuracy within 5 minutes, a stark contrast to the days or weeks traditional methods often require.

Solution

To transform this ambitious vision into reality, B4UBuild partnered with MindVision. The Yuldi Pro platform was chosen for its robust capabilities in handling the immense volume of variables and complex calculations required for construction estimates. Together, they developed a custom-built software application designed to streamline the estimation process. The solution focused on:

  • Custom Software Development: Building a tailored application on the Yuldi Pro platform to manage all aspects of construction estimation.
  • Software Development: The application is designed to support playing “what if” on complete home building projects, allowing potential home buyers to refine
    their wish list and budget in minutes without seeking quotes from builders or guidance from an architect. This approach saves many thousands of dollars for
    clients and tens of thousands for builders.
  • Accuracy and Speed: Integrating sophisticated algorithms to ensure estimates were both highly accurate and generated quickly.
  • User-Friendly Interface: Designing a tool that was intuitive and simple for users to navigate, despite the underlying complexity.

I've been in the building industry for years, and I know first hand how much time and
effort goes into creating a project estimate. You're dealing with countless variables,
from materials and labour to permits and unforeseen costs. And the reality is, many of
the quotes we spend hours discussing and preparing never even turn into a project. It’s
a huge drain on resources.
I had a vision for something better: an online tool that could quickly and accurately
estimate building project costs. The goal was simple yet ambitious: create an estimating

could get close to that, it would be a game-changer for the industry, saving builders and
clients countless hours and a significant amount of money.

variables and calculations required. We worked together to build a robust, purpose-built
software application that could handle all the complexities of a construction estimate.
The results have been incredible. The B4UBuild application not only met our targets but
